How I came up with the concept 'a deer-eyed lion'

-First of all, I'll mention that I am a Leo(haha) and I feel that a lion is a close representation of how I feel sometimes. But at the same time, I don't completely identify with being one, hence a deer-eyed lion, a mix of prey and predator. I think to survive and thrive one has to learn to be both. The Frog and the Nightingale, Poem by Vikram Seth helped me come to this conclusion. This is how 'Reign of the beast' came into being :)
